Brother Ritchie, who now sleeps in the Lord, wrote some interesting accounts of the activities of brethren and sisters in Australia in the late 1800’s. Their dedication to meet weekly with brethren and sisters to remember their Lord and then be involved in the collective preaching activity was the predominant feature of their week. This article shows that, notwithstanding the difficulty of the journey, their spiritual motivation overcame the difficulties. Considering the ease with which we can attend meetings and lectures today their dedication may contain an exhortation for us.
